SOCIALS

Location
Limehouse Town Hall, 646 Commercial Road, London, E14 7HA

Schedule
7pm doors open, bands between 8pm-12am, party ends at midnight! Full schedule here. A printed schedule will be posted at the Front Desk so no need to print your own.

Wristbands
When you arrive please collect your wristband(s) from the Front Desk. Please wear your wristband while attending the event.

Tickets
If you haven’t yet bought a ticket for all the socials or know someone who’d like to come along, there will be a limited number of tickets on the door, £18 each (cash only. Tickets will be available online until 5.30pm on the day of the social. Social Passes for the weekend close 5.30pm Friday.
Bar
We are pleased to say there will be a bar open in the ballroom at all socials. They accept cash and card payments. Please do not bring your own drinks into the venue. Free water is available from the water coolers next to the bar.

Dance Floor
Please be aware of others when you step out onto the dance floor – if it’s busy please look after your partner while dancing and keep your dancing small! We’re excited to welcome lots of new dancers and out-of-towners this weekend so be brave and ask someone new to dance 🙂

Cloakroom
Please make use of the free unmanned coat rail next to the front desk if you need to leave coats, luggage or big bags but be sure to keep your valuables near you. There will be chairs and tables in the ballroom for you to keep your belongings at hand if you need to.

Photography
There will be a photographer (Pawel Gawronski) at the event, if you do not wish to have your picture taken please make yourself known to him. If you’d like to take your own photos or videos at the event please ask permission from the people featured, feel free to tag them on social media with #londonjump.

Competitions
There are still a few spots left for the Big Apple Contest competition! This is a fun comp with 2 rounds of solo jazz challenges – whether you’re a new or experienced dancer you should jump in! Winners get a full pass to the Balkan Lindy Hop Championships in September 2018 and £50 cash prize! Competition is on Friday at 10.30pm, please arrive at least 30 minutes before for a competitors meeting. Competition entry is £5 per person online or in cash on the night. More info here

WORKSHOPS

Location
Toynbee Studios, 28 Commercial Street, LondonE1 6AB
Note that they are having some building works done at the moment, the outside of the building has white construction walls and lots of signage
All workshops take place in the same venue, some studios are on different floors but are an easy 3 minute walk. Follow signs to get to your studio. There are stairs and lift available.

Schedule
All classes take place between 10am and 6pm and each track has different start and end times. See the full schedule here for details. A schedule will be printed at the Front Desk at the Workshops and Socials so no need to print your own (unless you really have to!).

Arrival
Arrive at least 15 mins before your class is due to start to ensure we can start on time. Each track has it’s own schedule -please note that the schedule has been shifted and is still subject to change – make sure you check the latest version on Friday evening here

Wristbands
When you arrive please collect your wristband(s) from the Front Desk. Please wear your wristband while attending the event. You can collect your wristband on the Friday night social at the Front Desk or on the day at the workshops Front Desk, just before your workshop is due to start.

Tickets
Last minute tickets for Workshops may also be possible after ticket sales close at 5.30pm Friday- please contact us to find out about availability.

Levels
Each track has it’s own schedule – please stick to the track you signed up for. The classes are not a ‘pick-and-mix’ assortment! If you’d like to change level you can do so only once, please talk to Michaela or Pippa.

Footwear
The floor in the dance studios is a Harlequin flooring, please do not wear high heels and be aware that the surface may be a bit tacky/sticky for rubber soles.

Rhythm Tap Tasters are available to all Saturday attendees. Please bring tap shoes or hard soled shoes (but no high heels) to make the most of this great class! All tap classes are tasters and assume no previous tap knowledge. Please attend the taster assigned to your level – the levels indicate which group has access to that class rather than a tap dance level.

What to bring:

Food in the area
There are lots of places to eat nearby in Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market and the high street including Pret A Manger, Starbucks, Wagamama’s, Leon as well as smaller/independent spots to grab a bite. There is a small Tesco opposite the workshop venue also. Places to sit and eat outside are limited and there is no designated break area in the workshop venue.

General Info

Refunds and Exchanges
We’re sorry we can’t offer refunds – see our website for the terms. If you want to swap or sell on your pass to someone else please give them your name and they can attend with your ticket.
Weather
It will be a bit colder this weekend going down to -2 at night and 6 degrees on Saturday. We’ll get warmed up dancing but make sure you have some layers for when you cool down!
 
Transport
There are some tube disruptions for this weekend, please check the TFL website and plan your journey accordingly!

The wellbeing of our attendees and team is important to us and we reserve the right to remove any individuals who behave inappropriately.
